Taking place at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium on Sunday, July 20, 2014, the Opening Ceremony of the Regina 2014 North American Indigenous Games welcomed the athletes, coaches, families, spectators and visitors to Saskatchewan through a cultural celebration that showcased the diverse traditions, languages, song and dance of the province while entertaining and inspiring all who attended!
The Opening Ceremony featured a parade of the athletes, and Indigenous performers expressing themselves through dance, music, language and dress, providing a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversity of Saskatchewan. Including performances by the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company, Inez Jasper, Crystal Shawanda, Plex and a headline performance by George Leach it was an event not to be missed!
